The Mystic
is a collaboration with poet Robert Fitterman and Klaus Killisch, developed through a longstanding friendship and artistic exchange that began in Berlin in 1990.
THE MYSTIC is released through Collective Task Editions. It comes as a limited edition vinyl LP 12″ with an artist book and a video.

The video follows a drive through the Erzgebirge (Ore mountain) during a snowstorm. A black circular form is digitally inserted into the almost entirely white landscape, expanding and contracting as the car moves. Its changing scale translates rhythm, repetition, and duration into a visual process.
The music by ambientfunk provides the atmospheric structure. Fitterman’s voice delivers a text assembled from fragments of approximately six decades of rock music, ranging from psychedelic rock and folk to heavy metal and pop. Recontextualized, these fragments evoke cosmic imagery, memory, and apocalyptic moods.
THE MYSTIC brings landscape, voice, digital image, and music together in a space between reality and abstraction.
