HOWEVER WE ARE IS OK
is built around a simple idea: repetition changes things. At its centre are three versions of I’D KINDA LOVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD, with lyrics and vocals by Robert Fitterman and Roberto Balò. The words remain the same, but each musical setting changes how they are heard—shifting between intimacy, politics, absurdity, melancholy and hope. Around them, ambientfunk (Klaus Killisch) explores electric guitar, effect pedals, loops and textures, moving between ambient soundscapes, rhythmic undercurrents and occasional flashes of heavy metal energy.
The album closes with AFTER SILL, with lyrics and vocals by Robert Fitterman, drawing on the poetic and mystical world of Judee Sill—not as a cover or interpretation, but as a distant echo. Songs, sounds and memories return in altered forms. HOWEVER WE ARE IS OK is an album about transformation—and about how the same thing can become something else when heard again.
