In 1992 American poet Robert Fitterman and German painters Sabine Herrmann and Klaus Killisch traveled the USA from coast to cost by car. The trip took over a month and left a deep impression. This book “33 States” is a collaboration of combined images and poetry. The book works in two directions: the way to California is illustrated by Klaus Killisch and for the way back you turn the book and browse through the images of Sabine Herrmann. The text pages can be turned separately.
