Café Silberstein was a special place and hangout in Berlin for the artists. Shortly after the Peaceful Revolution and in the beginning of the roaring 90s it opened in Berlin-Mitte in Oranienburger Straße next to the jewish synagogue. Thanks to Sangare I had the chance to display my work there regulary. Later Sangare Siemsen and Lutz Penndorf opened the ambulance bar beside cafe Silberstein. It was a special club and venue for DJs. I was commissioned to do a mural on the ceiling with LPs, which Sangare had put on as a DJ in the early 90s. Berlin went through a typical transformation: artists and creative people have made the city interesting, vibrant and open. But it has become expensive and so, these very same people are the first to move on. Silverstein and ambulance bar had to close down for good…
