Poesie der Krise

Poesie der Krise began with a scene from Velvet Buzzsaw: a naked man reclining on a sofa, absorbed in his laptop. The cinematic image became a point of departure rather than a subject to reproduce.

Above the figure, fragments of text and images form something between a speech bubble, a thought cloud, and a cultural archive. Clippings from Spex and NOMAG bring together references to Marcel Duchamp, Carl Friedrich Claus, Alice Cooper, Billie Eilish, Jan Faktor, and others. Headlines, quotations, and images collide without forming a single narrative.

The painting brings together two spaces: the physical intimacy of the reclining body and the continuous flow of language, images, and information surrounding it. Painting and collage, private space and public language, physical presence and digital experience overlap within a single image.
